Slicing over the thin ice,
heat is the trail behind.
Farther, farther down into the ice,
water is creeping out to consume.
Water begins to swallow you
filling you with pure chill.
Down, down it pulls you under.
Air escapes your lungs in swirls of bubbles.
Lungs once filled with laughter
now weighed down with water.
Once expanding, contracting,
now water, extracting, extracting.
The darkness blurs the light,
leaves you blind and alone.
Spinning erratically, Darkness.
Deeper and Deeper you go.
Pumping slows,
Air is gone,
All alone,
Darkness,
Water.
Gone
